3 Hour GDD and Breast Feeding Class

Yesterday I had the 3 hour test. I am not good these days at doing without something to eat in the morning and I downed that glucose drink quickly (still tastes like flat cream soda/ginger ale). It was pain to be there for 3 hours and get 4 blood draws. On one of them my vein wiggled and it hurt, so I have a bruise on my left inner elbow. I didn't think the lab was so great (sometimes they were a few minutes off on the draw, I guess that's ok) and it will take 3-4 business days for the results. I guess I'll find out at my 30 week appointment next Tuesday.

Tonight I have a breast feeding class at the hospital. (It may be a little early, I wanted it next month but it conflicts with Lamaze class). DH isn't going. He's pretty supportive, but he's leaving that area to me - and he thinks it might be awkward to be in the class. I'll let him know if any guys come.

My goals are:

- Find out what resources are around if I have problems (other than LaLeche League which I've met).
- Find out if there is somewhere to buy nursing bras locally (or at least try different ones on).
- What to buy - especially in the area of bottles (I'll have to pump when I go back to work).
- Meet other mom-to-be's in the area.
- Possibly get leads on pediatricians and day care.

I'll report on it later.

that's the other one i've heard good things about. sounds like it would be a good option for you since you'll be needing it so early...

wow we've talked a lot about what kind of leave i would have had if i'd stayed in the states, i bet it would be the same. now i feel extra lucky because i hadn't been at my job for a year either - well just barely one year when my maternity leave started, but i was on sick leave for a few months before that with complications...

i hope you can find good daycare! it's great that you're committed to breastfeeding your baby and willing to pump from work :)
