Destressing

It was one of those days with Alan. When he's overtired, he's so wild and off in his own world - won't answer questions - changes the subject :(
But DH and I made home made oven baked chicken for dinner that was good. Alan even ate one - and I did get him to try 1 bite of mashed potatoes (he used to like them) that turned into more.
My 7 layer bars came out good - 1 pan for office pot luck and the other pan for Alan's school and us.
Yesterday, I got my kid related holiday party stuff - paper goods at Dollar Tree. I've learned it is easier to grab the holiday papergoods there and then pick paper goods on the sign up sheet. If I wait for the sheet, they'll be gone @ Dollar Tree!
Using similar logic I got a jar of turkey gravy tonight at the store. We are invited for Thanksgiving 2x (once Thursday, once Friday) - and I figure we will get left overs and they will need gravy!
I am not getting a PS3 or Wii. My level of dexterity is not good on video games. I've seen people waiting in line (tonight at Target for Monday's opening) and am amazed about it. I keep thinking I should put up an ad something like -if you have something that has become obsolete due to your PS3 or Wii, I'll give it a good home - even 1 generation back video games are pretty sophisticated.
On Friday I tried to get an item on sale at the big Toys R Us in Times Square - a set of 4 children's versions of classic books like Frankenstein and Treasure Island. They didn't have any - and the NJ stores only had 1 left. I would have thought that would have been ignored for the latest electronic things!
Off to do some Black Friday planning. Yes, I will be nuts and be outside at 6AM. However it's only Staples, 10 minutes from my house - in a less travelled shopping area. (We are getting dvd's and dvd burners mostly and for us :))
