How long have you been co-sleeping? Probably since he's a few months old.
How did you decide to do it? It was my husband's idea. He wanted to nap with Alan. And it spread from there.

He goes in his crib when he goes to bed (the crib is next to my bed), but more often then not, he'll wind up at one point or another or both of us in bed (we are in seperate bedrooms usually, long story). When we went to Florida when he was 5 months old, he stayed in the king size bed with us. And when we go to my college reunion this summer, he'll do the same.

I'm not totally following attachment parenting, and my husband doesn't really know much about it. But sleeping with Alan is one thing we like, and one day, someday he'll outgrow it. Until then, I don't worry about it.

My daughter is now 6 and still sleeps with us. I loved it when she was little but am less enthused about it now, because she's not a quiet sleeper, and usually wakes one of us up by kicking or lying diagonally across us =( We tried to break her of the habit but have given up, frankly, because it's too heartwrenching to hear her crying...
