Ah, you're lucky he doesn't have wide feet...my son's are wide so I have to pay for the expensive shoes. Stride Rite shoes DO last a very long time, and fortunately my son's feet haven't grown much in the last few months, altho he has gotten taller. I have been able to get summer sandals at Payless with the Velcro because I can just about adjust them big enough to not pinch. Payless has great kids' shoes but not a good selection of wide sizes for toddlers (at least when I've looked).
I don't know how shoes sell on Ebay, haven't looked into it. I have seen lots of shoes for sale at garage sales and they don't seem to ask much for them, 50 cents to a couple of dollars. I had a bunch of shoes for Ben's first year, before he started walking so much and good fit became more important than keeping toes warm.
