Long night
I got home tonight feeling icky, I picked up Alan from daycare, he was still coughing (the note for the day said he had a very runny nose).
So I decided to take me and him to my doctor (a clinic, they treat children also) which closes at 8. (Alan was there once for a funny pimple on his hand).
We got there 7:20. They weren't taking any more walkins - I croaked I'm a patient and I have asthma. They spoke to the doctor and I could wait. (Having been seen there since 1999 has its rights I guess). Then I had to give my new insurance card (which arrived today) and my copay, but I goofed - I thought it was 20, it was 15 (so they have to give me back 10.00 on a charge tommorrow.)
Anyway while we waited a blind couple left. The woman had a seeing eye dog. Alan kept saying doggie - I told him the dog was working, he couldn't pet it. But Alan was still excited.
By 8, we were the only ones left in the waiting room. So I changed the tv from the bowl game to Sponge Bob (they didn't mind.)
Anyway by 8:20-8:25 the doctor came after we'd been sent to the exam room. There was a little 2 month old girl there for something I'd seen in the waiting room, I heard her crying in another room, made me sad.
Diagnosis - antibiotics for both of us - amoxicillin for Alan (one ear was getting red) and psuedafed - me Zithromax (she wanted to give me biaxin but it gave me insonmnia when I took it - ok that was right after 9/11, but I'm afraid to try it again) and robotissuin dm. So off to the 24 hour pharamcy as the supermarket one I use closes at 9. I HATE Walgreens. First they were out of amoxicillin. Second, they only filled the zythromax 1x, she did say 2x. I had to go to another 24 hour Walgreens to get the amoxicillin - another 15 minute drive in the rain. There I had to wait while they mixed it! When I got home I discovered they had the wrong address on the amoxicillin and didn't say how long to take it - I'll fix both those problems tommorrow. Next time I should use the cvs 24 hour pharamcy down the street from the walgreens :(
Gave Alan his medicine in juice - it took forever to wind him down to bed. He gets really hyper if you overtire him. Hopefully he can go to school tommorrow. I'll let them dose him this week.
I'm off to bed myself I hope I feel better. (I got juice and took the zythromax after I left the first walgreens.)

There is a *3* day version of it I had once. And I bet they'll try to make a *1* day version for those who hate medicine at all (and still charge $$$ for one pill!)
