Alan's birthday

We're not doing much this year - 3 isn't a "big" age. We really don't know his classmates and only have one friend with a child close to Alan's age.

So his "big" party will be in preschool. I ordered the cake today at Shoprite. It's a Sponge Bob cake as they don't have Thomas the Tank Engine. They are able to do it so the base is cupcakes - it's a few extra than I need (he has about 15 in the class, it's 24 cupcakes...I figure the staff can have the extra's or they can come home). I also picked up fruit snacks for his goodie bag - 1 box of Spongebob and 1 box of Capri Sun (I had triple coupons on each one). I'll put one fruit snack thing in a bag with a toy. Nothing fancy, but something to take home. I need to hit the dollar store for bags (and ribbon) - I can get like 100 bags for 1.00 (so I'll be set forever) and I bet I can find some 1.00 toys that can be split into several bags - I'm not going to do a total themed thing.

On his birthday, I have the clothing swap in my MIL's town to stop at. Then MIL, SIL, Mark, Alan and I will probably go out for lunch. That's it. Maybe the next day (or later) we might see our friend (I'll save 1 goody bag for him). I figure NEXT year, I'll have to do a kids party.

No Halloween costume yet though :(

Hello back!

I hope #1 and #2 don't wind up with joint parties in the future...they may not like that.

Depending on whether #2 is early or on time, they may have to share for a couple of years. It wil be better when they have their own friends! I'll be able to have seperate parties for them, then.

Unfortunately, my partner has a bazillion friends with a bazillion kids and they're all around the same age as H and if you invite one kid, you have to invite all of them (and I don't like many of the parents enough to entertain them twice in a couple of weeks, lol)
