It is the family history that she and the local doctor induced a very late term abortion (she would have been between her 5th and 7th month). She sent the children on, had the abortion, then she and the doctor buried the babies and rode their bicycles from Poland to Bremen. The date put to this is summer of '44.
There was talk that there was another pregnancy between '38 and '44, I just don't know.
