A sad day here :(

It's a day I thought would never come...

Alan doesn't want Thomas anymore at age 6 1/4. Time to pack up the books and trains to save, and give away the clothes and change his Thomas switchplate in his room. I think he still likes trains to look at or watch the model ones.

He's into Hot Wheels, Power Rangers and Backugan and they just aren't the same :(

I think I'm sadder about it than he is :(

That is a tough one. He's not sad because he's ready to give it up and move forward. As parent's we're almost never ready to let go..!

I thought Jack would never outgrow it, too. Finally, he did, but we're going to hang onto these great wooden toys for our grandkids down the road.

Awww... but you really got some good mileage out of it. We packed ours up a few years ago, and get it out on special occasion for them to play.

You know Em has left Thomas behind too. She knew EVERYTHING about that gang and sang all the songs. We have about 1 million Thomas movies. It is a sad day, I know how you feel. I get sniffly when I pass the Thomas toys at the store.

Pixie is deep in Thomas mode and we're having the best time of it.

It is very sad to have that fun, innocent stage pass.

Took me longer than that to grow out of it >.>

I know what you mean-it saddens me when my kids did that. Mckenna has all this Strawberry shortcake stuff and doesn't want any of it:(

Oh, I hear you - we packed up the wooden trainset a few months ago and sent it off to the grandparents' place.

It's all Ben 10, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Dungeons & Dragons around here. Oh, and Scooby-Doo and Doctor Who, which I can get behind.

We should give away more than we do, but I'm definitely keeping all the wooden trains! At least when they're 7-8 you can play board games without all the screaming and crying :)

We're just about to turn 6 here, and I can see the changes in her now. Thanks for the warning ... ouch ... Thomas the Train already!
