Eh
My microwave is still broken. They are waiting for a part (I think the magnetron...they wouldn't say). I said they should have loaner microwaves, she said take it up with Panasonic (no sense of humor alas). Hopefully they'll fix it so I can get it on Saturday - it's frustrating.
Tonight I want to take Alan to Paramus Park (mall) to hit Stride Rite and Gymboree. He needs shoes for spring/summer - good sneakers and a pair of water/land sandals. (I have a dressy pair I got 2nd hand). I need to get the pants for his spring photo next Thursday and I might get one of the dog shirts on sale. He's getting his photo done in a rugby shirt and pants, rather than shirt/sweater vest/dressy outfit as I have no other use for that kind of outfit, but this he'll wear again, and it will be safer for a long school day (at least thursdays aren't pizza lunch days!)
But, the condo had to turn the water off today. So before we go, I have to go home, run the water in the tub and reset the breaker. Mark doesn't know how to do this. At least this time, the condo says they'll replace the pool valve (which is why they turned the water off and last time it wasn't done).
Feel like I am in a rut lately. At least this Sunday we are going to the Englishtown Flea Market because it will be nice out. And seeing some people we haven't seen lately.
And last night Alan was in a very good mood. He went to the store with Mark and behaved well, ate 99% of a huge bagel (he gave the last bite to me, he always does...) and was pretty happy and cheerful. I even read him Curious George. If you think about it, parts of that story aren't politicially correct anymore - George smokes a pipe before bed for example. But he listened to the whole book. I keep telling him books are his friends, I really want to encourage him to read.

I think that if they don't finish fixing your microwave by Saturday, you should just get another one, and then get rid of the fixed one by eBay/Craigslist/Freecycle or whatever.

But it is weird that this Panasonic has been in the shop 2x for repairs while under warantee...usually they make good stuff.

Gymboree was a bit of a bust too. I wanted to earn my gymbucks, but I only found two cute shirts. I got him a nice, striped shirt, and a collared nautical shirt (both on the 40 percent off rack, which is where I usually shop there!). I broke down and got him some new pants in 4T, since his 3Ts are getting too short. They were like $16, which is more than I usually spend on pants for him, but he needs dressy pants for Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday.
But Ethan picked out a cute whale shirt from their nautical line, and he LOVES it. He told everyone last night he got a new yellow whale shirt.
I have to edit a bit in the Curious George books too! He's into them too, because we saw the movie. What we did about the smoking thing was we told him how CG smoked the pipe, but it made him feel sick because smoking is bad. Can't start too young with the anti-smoking campaign!

is what I have for Alan, I need the pants (hopefully the olive ones) to match.
I've not really gotten stride rites for Alan before. the last few times I've had him measured at stride rite and gone next door to payless to get cheaper ones. But this year I really expect him to put mileage on his shoes (the stroller is retired) so I'd rather get a good pair. I'm beginning to realize with shoes and pocketbooks, paying a little more is worth it. (not super designer stuff, but sturdy basics).
