Totally Random

Tonight when I picked Alan up from daycare, he was wearing the vintage Gymboree top I'd sent him in, but not the matching shorts - he was in sweatpants. In his backpack were other spare clothing of his, but not the matching shorts. Hopefully, they'll turn up tommorow - but vintage stuff is hard to replace.

(Vintage Gymboree is stuff that came out before 2000 - much brighter colored and less adult looking. People either love it or hate it.)

I picked up Sesame Street All-Star Alphabet on DVD tonight from the library. Alan liked it alot, and I liked the retweaking of some popular songs to fit the alphabet - I got this one because it has Norah Jones on it which Alan liked a lot when he saw it on Sesame Street.

Part of the DVD is filmed in a mall. Although they've blocked out most of the identifying stuff in the mall shots - it looks to me like they filmed it in Garden State Plaza mall in Paramus near me (some stuff looks way too familiar including the carousel). I wouldn't be surprised if they filmed it on a Sunday when the mall is closed - it's also not far from NYC where Sesame Street is filmed. I wonder if it is in the credits?

Edited to add - yes it was filmed at Garden State Plaza, they did show it in the credits. Even my husband recognized the mall and he doesn't go as much as I have.

That DVD sounds great. It probably doesn't have the REM version of Furry Happy Monsters from the title.
We saw Nora Jones on Seasame Street yesterday... Don't Know Yhehe...I liked it as much as N did.

No, it has some lame Monster song for M. I love that REM version...someday I have to find it on a CD.

I was asking around recently when is it that children begin watching SS? I guess the Bee Boy could start soon? A and O never watched it....it teaches letters by name and not by phonetics like Montessori does so I never really turned it on too much for them...but I grew up on it! of course, 1969!!!

:)

I remember watching it with Alan when he was 8 days old! When I went back to work when he was 3 months old I'd put it on between 7 and 8 AM while I got ready for work - now he prefers Nick or Noggin, but will let me put it on sometimes.

He does, like anything else he only pays attention through parts of it, but he does like what he watches, especially Elmo's rap, he'll constantly forward or backward the movie to watch the rap, lol.

Alan likes the musical bits. I think that's because my husband is always playing concert videos lately (although he says turn it off for most of them.)

Heather and Evan love Sesame Street Alphabet--Heather asks for it all the time. You have to like Stephen Colbert as the letter "Z."
