Dress Up Help (Alan and I)

Our family has 2 dressy events in the next few months.

DH and I have a bat mitzvah in March to go to. It's split over 2 days - the temple ceremony is a Saturday morning with the reception/party on Sunday afternoon. (Alan wasn't invited to this one alas).

Then in June we all will be invited to my cousin's son's bar mitzvah. The ceremony and party will be in his backyard. (He lives in an upscale town and is high up in a brokerage firm).

I need to find things to wear for all 3 occasions. I also need to figure out what Alan should wear. On top of that, Alan has picture taking at both schools sometime this Spring. The ones in the daycare usually comeout well, the public school not so well. So I might dress him for daycare (maybe the same outfit as the Bar mitzvah?)

Any suggestions? I'm a size 12 and Alan is a size 4.

(I'm not asking for DH, he'll wear a suit, I'll just make sure he's got a clean pressed shirt - not an old worn one!)

When my son was a ring bearer (in both of his uncles weddings) - I found decent toddler size "suits" (vests & ties but no jacket) at JC Penny. You should have good luck since its almost Spring and the stores usually have Easter dressup stuff now.

I would check here in the outlet section for a good deal on dresses - something that you could put a sweater over would work for March and June:

I was a 10/12 pre-pregnancy and still have all my old clothes (which I can't fit into). All in lovely shape. What are you looking for? Mind you, my color range tends to run in black and...well...black, but there may be something in there that would appeal.

What's your style, baby? (If you don't mind California hand-me-downs that is!)

I have a few dressy things that I can check sizes on for you and take pics.

The Bar Mitzvah is spread out over two days? That's odd.
