Is there a word for this?

Is there a word that means of interest to adults without meaning adult in the "sexual sense"? The idea I'm trying to convey is that some topics are of interest to adults but would be irrelevant or uninteresting to children - like the workings of the stock market or office politics

When I mention I wouldn't want a child reading my LJ, it's for that type of adult content - not the X-rated one and I can't really find a word for it.

I suspect mature is probably the right word ... but because of media "...for mature audiences only" - it still seems to point at x-ratings somewhat :(

Mature PG-13!!! lol! :D

How about cultured or enlightening.

I also like straight up "adult content" but I suspect that's exactly the kind of thing that also connotes sex.
