Morning

"Meet the new boss....same as the old boss!" I have that Who song lyric in my head today.

It's already 77 (WABC) degrees out.

Last night I came home to find Mark reading to Alan. Turns out Alan had been in time out during the day because he hit and kicked a child apparently over a toy. He decided no TV for Alan. We wonder if the older more physically violent TV he's seen affected him - we recently showed him old Popeye episodes.

We went swimming last night in the condo pool instead. Although Alan likes the water he doesn't want to learn to float. He also loves to ask the lifeguard if he can swim. The lifeguard was nice - I was having trouble getting Alan out of the water to go home so I told him the lifeguard would fish him out with the net (he likes when the lifeguard uses it to catch bugs) and he went along with it.

Hope I don't roast today.

(no subject)

Made it to work. Decided to wear a white cotton sleeveless blouse and a brick red skirt and try to stick my hair in a similar color scrunchy – I am awful at doing my hair. New boss seems quiet for the 1 minute I met him. Alan wore Naartjie, a sleeveless T and camo shorts – I figured if anyone knows heat it’s South Africa!

Talked to Alan’s teacher – apparently he’s been hitting/kicking lately. No more violent cartoons I think.

I discovered the error on my check was in the YTD column. So no extra money. Must learn to read my paystubs more carefully.

Interesting about Castro turning things over to his brother. It would be nice if Cuba was free. They’d probably get lots of $ from tourisim and old car buffs looking for parts.

Honestly given the changes in power in other countries since 1959, I really wonder if Cuba is the threat that was perceived in the past. They do happen to be the physically closest dangerous country - but as 9/11 showed the US, distance isn't the big problem anymore.

And just what we need is another tropical storm which if the path holds would hit Florida.

Hopefully NY/NJ will survive this brutally hot day. I remember heat waves but not 2 days where they predict temperatures over 100.

Whew!

Just listed 15 items on eBay. Not bad for a last minute rush!

Still 89 degrees here. Time to sleep!
