Health Update
Jul. 3rd, 2002 01:02 pmWell after being sick with a cold for a week and not breathing well I went to the doctor Monday night. Diagnosis asthma, given another nebulizer treatment. She didn't want to do anything else because of the pregnancy. I dragged my husband to the doctor because his cold wasn't getting better. He got some allerex pills and told to drink fluids, rest, take motrin.
This AM (still not better) I went to see my allergist. He prescribed prednisone. (He knows I'm pregnant). I take it for 5 days. He said I'd get hungry (I said I didn't mind). It seems to be helping already. He said breathing for two was more important than the risk of predinsone. My late dad took prednisone for his emphasema. But he blamed it for wrecking his immune system and being very suspectible to colds/infections - I think 5 days won't do that to me.
My husband also went as he was still stick and got nasal spray and allegra D (he has combination allergy/cold).
I think pregnancy+cold+high mold count did me in. I think the same happened to my husband (minus the pregnancy!)
