Alan and dogs
Feb. 7th, 2004 11:08 pmDogs must like Alan. He's had interesting experiences with them.
Our friend's dog Candy who is a Yorkshire Terrier loves to lick his face. She's seen him twice and both times she did it. Her "brother" Taz didn't seem to care.
Tonight Alan met, Nieve, a 4year old Chespeak Bay Retriever. He followed Alan around sniffing his butt (diaper change and perhaps the smell of our cats) and kept licking him on the head and ear. Alan seemed a little startled with this (clinging to me) but never cried or freaked out. He'd crawl into the bedroom of the apartment we were visitng and close the door leaving me, him, and dog there. He did seem to get even later -- he played with the dogs 2 balls, tried to eat a milk bone and splashed his hands in the water dish. Nieve eventually went off to chew on his toys and leave Alan alone, but it was odd that 2 different dogs loved to lick him. Neve didn't lick either me or my husband.
And why when Alan goes to someone's house will he do the same things - find kitchen cabinets and try to open them. Or splash in a water dish like at home. One thing I have noticed is that Alan gets himself oriented in a place quickly -- once he figures out where something is (like the ktichen or a door) - he'll go back to it quickly.
