Another busy weekend.
Saturday we went with friends of ours on an Easter Bunny Train Ride. Our friend's company is a big customer of this little railroad (Mike even knew the guy in charge) so we got to go for free. Mike works for a company that makes huge rolls of paper, and the railroad brings them tanks for HOT glue. I can't imagine that.
We got to sit in the last car which was an old pullman car with a lounge and sleeper rooms and even a kitchen. We got food and space for Alan to run around in. There was even a piano. Alan (and Jeff, our friend's son) were a little shy about the bunny especially at first. But I did get a few shots. Alan did love the chocolate bunny :)
We then went over to the Olive Garden for dinner. That didn't go well. Perhaps it was no nap, or perhaps Alan being spoiled by the buffet, but he was cranky and didn't eat much. He even SHRIEKED a few times - I think all the Olive Garden's heard him! He didn't even eat the breadsticks we thought he'd love. Service there wasn't good, the waitresses were very unfriendly. Our friends son was good, its almost like they take turns being good (the boys are 5 months apart).
Sunday we went over to my MILs. My SIL's "in-laws" (the parents of her late SO came over). They were happy to see Alan. They brought a book for him, oddly enough it was Dora, his favorite. I also put together the Fisher Price garage that I'd got at Target's 75% off sale in January. Glad I had company while doing it to watch Alan (I left the toy at my MILs). We ate Chinese, Alan loved his lo-mein! Then Alan was clapping and we all clapped back - what a little ham.
Afterwards we went to Trader Joe's (yes, they were open on Easter, very suprising). Got a few things, fruit, bread, but no chocolate cat (shaped) cookies. Came home, Alan napped then we cooked some chicken sausages from there which Alan loved. My husband wouldn't eat them though, the color to him seems weird. I kept trying though (my husband is fussy). Then Alan had a bath, off to bed and I did laundry.
Now it's Monday. But Easter is 50% off at Target and Gymboree is having a sale. So something to look forward to tonight.
