Sigh - rambles
Mar. 15th, 2005 10:49 pmCame home and ended up getting caught up in Mark's work. He has this pdf file of attendies to a conference he has to send press releases to.
It's in PDF where the first 12 pages are 1 set of fields and the next 12 the remaining fields. Very difficult to extract/convert. Even some programs we've tried chocked on it.
I just wish he'd not work so hard at home but he's self employed.
I also stopped tonight to get the Incredibles. Shoprite (supermarket in NJ) had a deal where it was 1/2 price if you got 3 packages of Danimals yogurt. (Alan could live on it). I saw a little of it with Alan, he didn't want it. He wanted Bob The Builder instead. But boy is the picture quality less clear on Bob the Builder even on DVD. Also the preview of Disney's "Cars" for 2006 is pretty cool (it's on the Incredibles).
Slowly resolving health insurance hassles. I think I will get the 2 remaining 2004 bills paid by the appropriate insurers (Aetna messed up one bill because the rates changed in Feburary 2004 - my bill was in January 2004. It didn't help that my company had Aetna for one month before dumping it for self insurance and the (@!)(#)( third party adminstrator). Still fitting with them to get my thyca treatment covered as in network for medical necessity (Sloan was not in network). Sorry, I didnt go to Sloan because I felt like it. (Honestly, I find it depressing, not that the staff isn't nice or they know their stuff, I just felt like I was not sick compared to some I saw in the waiting room or on the hospital floor - no bald head, no oxygen, no tube in nose etc...)
Alan is getting more vocal. He's also good at getting from the refrigerator. At our friends house the other night, once he figured out it opened on the other side, he was trying to help himself. At least 2 out of the last 3 days he took his chewable vitamin. I think he was full tonight. I should try in the AM now.
My boss has been away for 2 weeks on business. Didn't even say hi to me today. I was on the needs improvement path last time we met...but one of things that I was to do I can't due to lack of software. These coaching sessions are stupid anyway. I'd really like to see this British company do something. It was ironic that the employee disastisfaction survey which we were (un)intentionally almost left out of came back bad even without our office. So we move to our new office on April 8th. So we will have an office manager there (we've had heating/ac issues lately and I haven't seen her here once since the other office moved to the new one....I bet she got us moved so she doesn't have to deal with it.) The prior owners got 9/11 insurance money to fix the place (formerly a dead dotcom, we still have some of the pc's and chairs (Aeron ones) from them - so moving before the lease was up might need creative accounting (not illegal, but the loss needs to be handled).
Just feeling lonely as Mark fell asleep with Alan and I'm tired with work/net stuff bugging me.
