When daycare rings...

I get very concerned when I see their # on my work phone.
Apparently Alan woke up from his nap rather swollen from a bug bite, so they called me. They asked me to check with his pediatrican. Based on what I was told (it was affecting his eye/face), they said to bring him in.
So I left work early to get him. He was outside playing when I got him. I see a definite bite and he looks a little swollen around the right eye, but at this point it's more of a playing safe appointment than an emergency, whew! So we'll go at 5:15.

I did change him into clean clothes as he'd gotten rather dirty in the schools playground. It was actually nice to observe him playing (going on the slide as is his usual thing on any playground) instead of rushing out the door to get him home.

It was nothing...

Saw the most senior doctor in the practice. He suggested 1 teaspoon benadryl every 4 hours for swelling as needed and cortisone for any itching. But no restrictions on what he can do - so we'll swim after dinner :)

It was a slow day at work :)
