Wrote out a plan to organize stuff before the school social worker comes on November 11th. It's probably stuff we need to do anyway. I'm not touching the 2nd bedroom or the horribly messy master bath as I doubt she'd go in those rooms.

Master bedroom
Move all food to hall closet if possible
Clean up top of desk by window and move dining room paper holder to it
Box Alan's papers under the desk (use box in my closet)
Move toy storage to living room (either under light, next to window or under A/C)
Stack outgrown clothing under window in space where toy storage was (hopefully at some point these boxes can go to Mom's)
Stack box of papers from living room under window
Possibly push Mark's keyboard against the window or at least remove it from the stand to store it as he's not using it

Guest Bathroom
Store medicines on sink - try to leave counter as empty as possible
Store bath toys somehow
Clean bathroom

Dining room
Toss out box for easel
See if gate can go to Ellen's
Get a box for the art supplies on top of microwave cart, add parts easel box there
Move box of papers to living room
Store McFlurry maker somewhere (hall closet or over refrigerator)?
Stick box of envelopes where McFlurry maker was
Move paper holder to bedroom
Move pile of art projects to bedroom also, box with his other papers.
Keep coats, extra diaper bag etc in hall closet when possible and keep dining room table as empty as possible
If can get key to bike closet, store purple ride on toy there.

Living room
Straighten up photos etc on the end tables
Dust around and clean mirror over couch
Keep toys picked up. Try to pile them neatly on top and keep boxes for trains and cars under coffee table for now.
Possibly find some way to store pile of videos and DVDs
Move some toys into holder that was in the bedroom
Possibly move intellitable into bedroom as it isn't being used - also possibly move nursing stool.
Vaccuum with carpet fresh
Possibly store some of the loose balls somewhere else.
Possibly find a replacement for the broken microwave cart?

Kitchen
Get as much stuff OFF the counters as possible, store (cabinets, hall closet, fridge) or discard.
Can leave stuff on top of refrigerator.
Clean counters
Keep kitchen table clear if possible when not eating.
Store all medications in cabinet over microwave - even the ones stored over the sink on the shelf.

George Takei’s sexual orientation doesn’t really bother me. I met him once at a sci-fi convention. He seemed like a nice guy.

Most gay guys just register as a nice guy to me. I may or may not notice if they are gay, as it usually doesn’t affect my relationship with them. In real life there is only one gay friend of a friend I don’t like – and that is because he has mental health problems (not related to being gay as far as I can tell, just that it adds to them.)

If William Shatner had turned out to be gay, my late mom would have been upset. I think she had a “crush” on him – I grew up watching the reruns of Star Trek at 6 PM Saturday and Sunday on WPIX in NYC.

Walked Alan to school this morning. I was expecting to get my car tonight as it wasn't ready yesterday - he got the wrong part.

But around lunch time he called, it still wasn't running well and he knew I wasn't going to spend more. So I ended up calling Mark - to make a long story short, we decided to give the car to the mechanic to cover the cost of the repairs. So I figured I'd drop off the 2nd key and the title over the weekend after I clean out the car and take off the plates etc.

On top of that at work I had to stay late to test a fix. There were 3 things to test, only two worked. But the client can live without that fix for a bit fortunately. I have to log on later and tidy up my comments on the ticket - I just cut and pasted notes to myself since it was so crazy.

So I get home and the microwave had died. We bought it this year (need to find the receipt) it was made February 2005.

Then I start looking for cars. My husband was thinking of a late model (1999-2002) Camry or Accord. But the ones you find have high mileage - people don't sell them unless they are pretty beat. I decide to puruse the local paper. Nothing at first, so I start looking at other kinds of cars. I spot a 2004 Chevy Cavilier with 15k miles (still some factory warantee) for 7,750. Huh? So I called. Turned out to be local and at a dealer at used car row. Car looks fine, ran fine - its gray with gray fabric inside showing little wear.Carfax seems ok - apparently the guy had to meet his sales quota and no one wants Caviliers. They want cooler cars or SUVs or really cheap cars - it was marked at 10,900.00. We put down a 500.00 deposit on it and will probably finalize things in the AM. With luck I can get it all paperworked away tommorrow - motor vehicle is open. And I won't have to leave the junk in my car in the house.

What is weird is that the car before my escort was a cavilier. And my escort was used with a warantee (it was a lease turn in). I'll probably get to use the car - my husband doesn't want to use up the warantee with his hours drive. So I get to put my WPI license plate frame on it :)

Time to get Alan to bed, call the car insurance company and find that receipt for the microwave.
