Slow day. Kind of a dull weekend.
Saturday my SIL and I got our licenses renewed. It was actually pretty quick – they didn’t spend hours looking at my paperwork (with NJ’s new 6 point ID system – I made sure to bring my birth certificate, first marriage certificate, divorce certificate and second marriage certificate and they barely glanced at them). I offered to take my SIL out for coffee on the way home (I said, we’d better do coffee, joking about any other drinking wouldn’t be appreciated…not that we were going to drink). So we stopped and headed home. Later my SIL, myself, and Alan went over my MILs house. Alan stayed behind with his grandmother while my SIL and I went shopping. (Mark stayed home to do some work). I got very little actually at Target (diapers, scissors for Alan, soup). Not much else at Sears (this Sears in Hackensack is never busy) – found Alan pj’s for 4.54 with a “Hot Wheels” design on them. Then I stopped at Gymboree to get what I couldn’t get online. When I got back to my MILs, my husband, MIL and Alan went to the grocery store. I installed my MILs DSL (pretty easy) and completed my pending Gymboree order (I didn’t want to order until I found the out of stock item or I’d have shorts and no top!)
Sunday we went with a friend to Hometown Buffet. We love it, but the nearest ones are an hour away. We enjoyed it (Alan ate pretty well, although he doesn’t stuff a whole cheesecake in his mouth as he did when he was a baby) – we also met 2 other friends there. We headed back and didn’t do much the rest of the day.
Yesterday we went to Staples to get some president’s day specials. Talked Mark into getting a second DVD burner for 20.00 after rebate to replace his dead CD drive. (After installing one into each of ours, I’ll have no problem putting this one in!) (Our Staples are closed Sundays due to Bergen County’s Blue Laws). Then we stopped again at my MILs, where I put DVD burning software on her PC. I still need to update her antivirus software though. Went home and managed to get Alan to nap (I napped also). And then I got 2 loads of laundry done, and yet another friend stopped by and we ordered a pizza. And, yes, we did see the highly advertised “Sponge Bob Lost In Time” episode where Sponge Bob winds up in medieval times (the era, not the restaurant – although they did spoof the restaurant in the beginning). I saw part of it, it was silly, but probably all wrong by SCA standards!
We’d also stopped at McDonalds so Alan could play in the play area. He had a good time and ended up befriending another 3 year old. I feel funny sometimes in public with him though – he’s got scars on his forehead from wounds he’d picked at, a little scab under his nose (from rubbing) and the missing teeth on top and bottom – I hope no one thinks I hurt him – actually with the scars on his forehead, he looks like he was in an accident.
(My husband is very social – he likes to do things with friends. He also loves to chat on the phone!)
Oh, remember the DVD/VCR I sent back for repair. Well, it was sent via UPS on 2/10. I haven't gotten it yet, and its coming from a town less than 10 miles away. Don't buy Daewoo products, especially a dvd/vcr.
