Friday at lunch I had my review. It went well and I hope my boss (although she's moving onto another roll) got the hint that I'd like a raise.
That night I dropped stuff off at the clothes stuff - some of my drop off were snatched up right away (like the snow suit from last year that Alan wore 1x - it's like rent-a-clothes!). Looked around a bit and headed off to Gymboree for a baby girl outfit for Mark's friend little girl.

Got this one.

Definitely my taste. Change the bloomers to a skirt or capris and make the shoes real shoes (no hairbow) and I'd wear those colors. Hope the mom likes it also.

Saturday AM we all went to the clothing swap. Alan's starting to get to age where the boys clothes drop off. So I didn't get much (and I later discovered one shirt had holes) - but I picked up a few things for my friends twins - they are only 4 months old, I figured 6-12, 9-12 would work (I was trying to make a doctor's appointment for both of us so didn't look as deeply as I'd like.)

Then we went to Trader Joes. They had NO samples. Alan wanted to watch the train, so I didn't get much beyond our old standbys - frozen mangos and chocolate cat cookies. We did get the frozen pot roast which is very good.

Then all of us went to the doctor. Alan was just visitng. Mark got nasonex for his allergies, I got the rapid strep (negative) and the regular culture. My throats better now, so it probably wasn't strep. I'm making sure Mark takes his nasonex, it's helping already.

We had the pot roast for dinner. Alan dozed off watching tv in the afternoon. After dinner (he ate Trader Joes pizza, we had the pot roast), I took him to the playground. We didn't stay long - a group of older boys made me uncomfortable and it had gotten cool and felt like rain and we didn't bring jackets.

Today was a quiet day. Alan clung to me a lot in the AM (I guess that was his way celebrating mommy's day). Then we went to my SILs with my MIL picking up Boston Market on the way for lunch. Helped her with a few moving related tasks of discarding and sorting stuff. Ended up with 3 jackets (2 corderoy and 1 denim) and a shirt that will fit me. Came home, unloaded all the records into my MILs car, while putting all the books in my car (I can take them to our library for book sale, the records are harder to get rid of). Now I can fix my car - I didn't want it on a lift with a trunk full of records - the books should be gone before I get the car fixed, but if not, going on a lift won't break them.

Chatted with a few friends tonight. One friend's mom is recovering from a valve replacement (but is ok). This was the same mom we ran into last Saturday night. We also called my friend with the twins. One is now 15 lbs and 4 weeks, the other 19! (yes, they are bottle fed, but I'm sure that's not entirely explaining their size.) Alan was 17 lbs at 6 months! Needless to say the clothes I got mostly wont' fit. So I'll clean out Alan's old clothes up to 2T. (this will leave me with about 1 year of backlogue stored which is good.) But don't they seem very big for their age?

And my Uncles SO is doing well with her cancer diagnosis - very upbeat and glad the tests of all sorts are over for now. Attitude is everything and the place treating her seems to have a real positive attitude (it's called the Hope Center). My experience with Sloan Kettering was the shared waiting room was depressing but Dr. Tuttles staff is pretty upbeat and positive.

This week brings seeing our friends new baby girl (I heard her from an open window today.) I didn't want to see her until I was sure I didn't have a bug. And our condo meeting. And finding out about the new Q/A manager. (My old colleague from a few years ago called to with a happy mothers day which was nice - I was one of her few allies during a rough time for both of us - she was stuck in a bad manager role and I had the thyroid cancer diagnosis to deal with (I told her about it)). We also have a condo board meeting thursday, a dinner out friday and a birthday party for Jeff (our friends son, 5 months older) to go to on Saturday.

This week is eh weatherwise. I'd like a pedicure if I can at lunchtime (my annual birthday treat). And to try to run to the old navy where I used to work (Subways are useful).

And I need a bathing suit. I need something like a jogger style - LL Bean or Lands End here I come!
