Busy, busy so far

Saturday AM went to the Englishtown Flea Market. Managed to find 2 jackets, a pair of pants, a Buzz lightyear hoodie (and a free long sleeved T) for Alan from one seller - and a free pair of size 11 sorrell snowboot from another (it was signed free...and was Alan's size!). We also got some bagel chips and whole grain spaghetti. No Thomas trains though.

Then we had lunch at a nearby buffet with a friend and her mom. Our friend is moving to Holly Springs, NC in October - we will miss her.

Then we came home - and later we drove my SIL back from our place to Jersey City (She came over to my MILs Friday night). I had to help her with some handyman stuff while I was there. I had to change her print cartridge (it just needed cleaning actually), try to put up a mirror (decided I wasn't up to it, and later she accidentally broke it), put up an over the door shoe rack (got it together, it didn't fit) and try to unstick a file cabinet draw (took a brief look, unsuccessful). But she enjoyed our company anyway.

Also found out my MIL wants to sell her place in a year or two and downsize to something smaller. Not terribly interested in her place - we had kicked around swapping places with her at one point. But her moving means we lose our storage bin (for us and my SIL). Much decluttering will need to be done.

Today we went to the farmers market as usual. Then we went to look at the furniture I'd linked to the other day. Oh, it was goregous. It belonged to an older widow who was downsizing - not a scratch or a spec of dust (she used the furniture scarves). We went home and grabbed it! She also had a very nice entertainment unit we are thinking about, and a leather couch we sadly can't use. Her whole house was goregous - if we'd seen it for sale, we would have grabbed it! We'll arrange for a man with a van to pick it up for us.

Afterwards we came home, zipped out to get a keyboard from freecycle (won't work for the camping trip, but ok for Alan to mess with). Then we tried to get him to the park with his tricycle. He would peddle it. But he had fun on the playground. Then he and I went swimming. And after dinner we will meet my cousins for good ice cream at a local place. Whew! (and of course no nap today).

He did amaze us last night - crashed on the couch right when we got home. Alas in his clothes. So tonight I'm bringing PJ's to change him into.
