I'm one of *THOSE* moms

I sent Alan to school/daycare with a cold today. Neither of us could take a day off or work from home. Alan wouldn't take cold medicine (even mixed in yogurt drink) - but I did drop a bottle off for daycare - hoping they'll have luck with it.

Hopefully he can come to my office party tommorrow.

I still need to get organized at home. Our tree is up (my old 19.99 6 foot one from Zayre's) but I haven't had a chance to hang ornaments. I'd like another light strand for it (two of mine died) - but Target didn't have any that I could find (I guess lights have changed over the years...I hadn't used this tree since 1998.)

Alan wants to ice skate. I'll see if I can take him next week. I also really want to work with him on his potty training so he WILL sit on the toilet for #2 (he still refuses).

Nursing shortage...

I got a flyer from the local school district that they are having a dental screening next month. It said to call if there were any conditions. So I wanted to call about Alan's missing teeth.

Anyway, the letter had 2 nurses names on it - one for each school in the district.

When I spoke to the office, it turns out the nurse for the pre-k through 4 school quit, so there is just one nurse who has now 961 students to cover and two schools (across the street from each other).

Not good :(

Argh

Now I got *the* call - Alan isn't feeling well - he threw up medicine and he might have a fever. Mark is leaving work to get him.

Doesn't look good for him coming with me tommorrow. No idea what I'll do - can't take off, he probably won't be able to go to daycare (due to fever). Sigh.
