Weird reference on TV

lesliepearWe usually have the TV on Nickelodeon most of the time. Which means we end up watching the “Teen Nick” shows like: Zoey 101 and Unfabulous. Alan used to like Zoey (Jamie-Lynn Spears) but mostly it’s background noise. So I usually don’t see whole episodes at a time – just bits here and there.
Last night was the season Premier (at last) of Unfabulous. Anyway the three lead pre teens were discussing death – the great aunt of Emma’ Roberts charcter (Addie) had died (off-screen). All of a sudden they start talking about Buffy – I forget the dialogue but they were talking about how she’d died and Willow brought her back. It seemed very odd they would be referencing a show that isn’t on Nickelodeon, nor one that the younger audience members might have watched.
