Gift Size Question

lesliepearI finally decided to get a baby gift for my friend with the fraternal twins born last month.
Gymboree has 2 cute 1 piece pj's long sleeve/long leg, but footless out now and a blanket that matches both of them. So 1 of each PJ + 2 blankets would be nice, I think.
I'm trying to decide if 6-12, or 12-18 months would be a better gift size. Some people like to size up in Gymboree as they are very tight fiting. I figure 6-12 would fit early fall, but 12-18 would fit spring (or earlier).
Ideas?
