Took Alan in, his ears were ok (one was clogged with wax that the doctor had to clean out to see if it was ok - he saw a little fluid).

But his throat was red so they did a strep test. It came back positive (a little on the weak side). So he has to stay home tommorrow (contagious until 24 hours after antibiotics they said and toss the toothbrush after 3 days). Meanwhile my throat is sore. I had the doctor take a peek - he thought mine might be nasal drip. I'm not sure...and I just finished levaquin last week. I wonder if I should be checked? (I don't know if I've ever had Strep before - Alan hadn't.)

If I have it, I guess I can't go to work tommorrow which is supposed to be my review day :(

Went to Target - the electronic transmission of the prescription to there messed up a little, so we had to wait. Got a DVD player for Alan's room while we were there, a cute pirate parrot shirt and a Disney Cars popup tent as well as diapers etc. They were just putting out the Cars merchandise in toys. (I had a gift card so I paid about 5.00 for the tent and DVD (the DVD was only 34.00 and is super tiny!) - we figure if he can watch tv in there, he'd sleep there...I'm tired of sharing my bed.)

Alan's watching Noggin and having his medicine in chocolate milk. We'll try to nap later.

Oh, cool - Gabe is already excited about Cars. (Duh...) I bet some of the merchandising would make good b-day presents for him.

Hope Alan feels better soon!

Target has Cars clothes (sandals and shirts) as well as toys. Barnes and Noble has books. Kelloggs cereal has toys. I think Alan will like the movie - he keeps saying I want the red one (the red car).

Sorry that is was bacterium streptococcer. I know how it feels. We had it too when Lennart was little. Now there's nothing else to do as rest. I hope you can see some nice DVD movies. HUGS

Poor fellow - strep sucks. I'd say drink lots of OJ, but that would probably just irritate strep. I hope Alan likes his tent - it sounds fun. We found out the other night that even with unlimited quantities of his favorite shows, Ryan DID eventually fall asleep!

Poor Alan! I thought for sure that I would be home with Peter today b/c he was seriously coughing his head off and pretty congested last night but this morning he was raring to go. Me on the other hand, I feel like I am coming down with something. Achy and my throat is sore. I hope it isn't strep. :(

The worst thing about strep throat is that once you've had it, you're more susceptible to it from then on. :-/
