That's how Alan got started with a set for his birthday.
It's those magnetic balls + cards. Roll the cards on the ball add a cardboard card you get points. Newer sets have instruction books in them - or it's online.
Alan seems to like to play with the figures for fun as well as the game - they've taken up residence on our the living room coffee table it seems.
And for fun, stick the balls on your fridge - they pop open!
