Alan's not feeling so good
Aug. 28th, 2003 10:20 pmYesterday, Alan felt warm when he came home. So I gave him some tylenol and juice after he'd taken a nap and he seemed ok. So he went to daycare.
When I got home tonight, DH told me Nadia said he was warm and had been tugging at his ear(s). He was asleep when I came home. DH went out - and eventually Alan woke up. He was warm so I gave him tylenol, nursed him and later DH gave him a little bread to eat and tried to give him some beechnut fruit stuff. I then changed him and attempted to take his temperature. I hadn't really ever done it...it looked like 102 on the rectal thermometer, so I called the doctor. Doctor called back, and we decided just to watch him since he was somewhat alert and playful. I ended up giving him a little more to eat - some pears and some pasta pieces. Some made into his mouth! I then got him undressed and gave him his bedtime bottle. We watched a little bit of something on PBS about trebuchets (medival weapons of castle destruction) and how they were trying to rebuild them and test them on castle walls. Then he went to bed. Hopefully he will be better tommorrow. And I need to learn how to use the rectal thermometer. I have the old fashioned mercury kind and a digital one.
