Other than the incident with the falling baby it was a good weekend.

Saturday AM we drove around with Inky and Alan to see if we could get a rescue group to take Inky. Alan snoozed in the car during our driving around, which resulted in 1-2 leads but nothing definite. Then we came home and Alan and I shared some Progressio chicken soup - he liked the chicken meatballs in this particular one. I then left Alan with Daddy and went to the supermarket for somethings. When I came back they were napping together in the 2nd bedroom :) So I was able to finish sorting out his clothes in peace. Amazing.
Later we went to my MILs where my SIL and a family friend where there. Alan crawled all the way down the hall from the living room to the bedroom to see daddy at one point!

We had a wedding Sunday. It was a Jewish wedding ceremonly, as the couple had a civil marrage a while ago. It was very nice, but the food was not good - it was made very fancy (and kosher) but didn't taste good. And after cutting up the wedding cake, they put it on a platter and gave people chunks with tongs...the cake should be ON plates and nicely served!

The groom and I share the same dentist. Martin (groom) recommended him to me. DH had also gone, but had a bad experience, but I still go. Martin invited the dentist and his wife to the wedding, it was odd to see him there. They said hello to us, and DH wandered off with others while we chatted.. We did wonder what the dentist ate - did he eat the desserts?

Rita (bride) also had the same problem with her gown that I had in my first wedding - it didn't stay bustled. I think the photographer had safety pins to help her out (I was chased into the bathroom by my mom's friends and safety pined). I think removable trains are much better.

Alan was with the sitter during the day as my MIL was also invited. He had a good time also, his shorts were spotted with ice cream (I guess they were hungry!)

Any new news on Georgie's condition? Did the local paper report on the incident?

I too went to a wedding this past weekend, though between that and the folk festival, I was just too tired to write much about it! This one was a Unitarian Universalist ceremony. One thing that I didn't mention in my own post was that the bride and groom (who both belong to an a-capella choir that has traveled to Europe a few times for performances) sang a love-song duet before reciting their vows. I've never seen that at a wedding before!

Spoke to Georgies dad - he was leaving as we pulled in. He has skull fractures but will be ok. Hopefully he'll be home soon and we'll pay a visit, all 3 of us. I told Mark if we get a balloon for Georgie, we'll have to get one for Alan too :)

That's the first time I've heard of the "chunks with tongs" approach, myself.
