Alan never took to one. I did try and so did the sitter, but he only preferred sucking with food attached (bottle or me). I guess I was lucky.

Oh wow. Though I can't imagine not noticing a binky like gap in yoru kid's teeth and not realizing it was a problem!

Jack gave his up cold turkey on his own at 10 months. I didn't really want him to, but he did it. :)

How clever! That is one of those 'I wish I'd thought of that' things.

Bryan has never been to keen on the binky either. He LOVES chewing on my fingers though.

Kennedy used a pacifier.. I took it away sometime between the ages of 12 and 18 months.. It wasn't a big deal to do it. And her teeth are pretty much perfect.. unlike her older sister, who sucked her thumb until very recently. I guess it's the timing that people get wrong. They wait until the kid is old enough to whine about it.
