Where I live

184,900.00 for a 1 bedroom. The 2 bedroom 2 bath on the third floor above sold for 230K very recently. (It's the same as ours and was fixed up...yet the new owner decided to replace all the floors with wood, redo the cabinets and junk the stove (which was fairly new).)
Sigh.

But a new home is expensive
Date: 2003-10-03 08:59 am (UTC)But we have to finish fixing it up - junking the 70's wallpaper in the bathroom, retiling the moldy master bath shower. The kitchen needs paint/wallpaper, a new ceiling fan and to replace the 70's stove since all the other appliances were replaced.
Here's one I'd like to checkout: http://tinyurl.com/pljj (369K my DH thinks is expensive!)

Date: 2003-10-03 09:28 am (UTC)Good luck getting your repairs done. A guy in my office is starting from scratch, basically, on his fixer upper house he bought. He's single so it's manageable. It's harder with kids.
are you ready for this?
Date: 2003-10-15 10:53 am (UTC)The house I like is $765K. Dream on.
