Yeah.

Our work around the house is coming along. Kitchen is very freshly painted. Saturday the rest should be finished (minus the new to us appliances and if we do the floor). Keith, the guy who is doing the work, was suggesting last night to get a new kitchen sink (its the 70's harvest gold color). But I told him we need the master bath done more than a different colored sink -- because there is a health issue with the mold there. It won't be too bad getting the 2nd bathroom done - all we are doing is changing wall paper, some paint on ceiling/medicine cabinet and trim/and updating the outlet and light switch. And that will be less inconvient than having the kitchen all over the place. I'm dreading the master bath because with retiling it will take a while. And it can't be done at night much because Alan sleeps in the master bedroom attached to it.

It's my fault about the Sox last night. I had the beginning of the game on, but turned it off. Then I put it on again when I was giving Alan his bottle. And just as I put it on Nick Johnson (who is he?) of the Yankees got the winning 2 run homer (put the yankees ahead to stay the rest of the game). Off went the TV :(

I'm happy because my gymboree had ALL the items I wanted for gymbucks and they are on hold till tommorrow. I need a few more things and then I should be good for Alan for the winter (black pants, black dressier shoes, and a coat/hat/gloves -- possibly a snowsuit). I'll get the pants today at lunch at TCP. maybe someone will get him a coat or snowsuit for his birthday, although I'd rather he get toys/books than clothes cause I got him sooo much already.

I also found out last night at Shoprite that his first birthday cake is free, just bring his birth certificate. Not bad.

Got to read BORING documentation now.

That free birthday cake policy is a good one! Happy Birthday (in advance) to Alan!

My condolences on the '70s autumn gold kitchen sink. My parents' house, which I finally sold last year, had a stainless-steel kitchen sink ... BUT ... an autumn gold Formica countertop and an autumn gold kitchen stove. Yep, you could just tell that the last kitchen renovations were done in 1972.

I have yellow (not gold, thankfully) fixtures in my bathroom. I desperately need to get rid of the wallpaper, but since I don't really like wallpaper in bathrooms, I'm wondering if I could get away with stripping off the wallpaper and painting over the (small) wall space with textured painting effects.

Sounds reasonable to paint the bathroom. See what kind of paper you have. If you have cloth paper like we had in the kitchen, it will come off easiy and you can use Amnionia to dissolve the glue. If it's foil like our bathrooms, you'll need to steam it.

I would use a washable paint for the bathroom.

If you and I both keep screwing it up for our respective teams they're gonna ask us to stop rooting for them. [livejournal.com profile] portia says it's my fault the Yankees lost game 1 since I washed my Bernie Williams beer mug (that says 'handwash only') and wrecked it.

And Nick Johnson has been a Yankee since late in the 2001 season (so late that he couldn't play in the postseason). He came up in the Yankee's farm system and is Larry Boa's nephew. He's a power hitter that was slumping in the postseason until last night.
