Monday NOVEMBER 3 and 75 degrees!

lesliepearWow. I had no coat on today. Alan wore a longsleeved shirt with a polar bear and snowflakes (wishful thinking?) today.
We got all the tiles down in the kitchen. But somehow while he was getting a snack on Saturday night, DH managed to crack a tile - being that they aren't grouted yet, I think he stepped oddly on a corner. You really can't see the crack, so it looks like we are going to grout the tiles anyway and live with the crack. (It's in one of those can't match dark gold tiles anyway, figures).
The grout should be done today. We can move things BACK in the kitchen soon (even if the woodwork stuff isn't finished yet).
I got Alan's photos from picture people. I bought 4 out of the 5 (I didn't like the closeup). I'm going to scan them (and possibly reprint them). I need more copies of certain sizes and picture people doesn't do 4x6 which is what my little album is and other people's albums/frames are.
Yesterday DH, Mark, I and my MIL went to my grandmother's. We dropped my SIL off in Jersey City on the way (she doesn't drive). We checked out a Phillipine bread place near her - very yummy - I don't normally think of Phillipines and baked goods. I then drove through the Lincoln tunnel and down 42nd street toward her place at 64th and 3rd. (Came through the west side due to the NYC marathon which goes up 1st ave, near where I usually go off the FDR drive). Never drove the lincoln tunnel into NYC before. (My DH won't drive in NYC, I always drive there). Ate outside at a good chinese restaurant, hung out a bit and headed home to do laundry.
Hopefully tonight we will write Alan's thank you's. We've been a little behind due to all the house work.
We hope to have people (our friends, my grandmother) over in Mid december when the work is done so it is incentive to CLEAN up the place.
