Do you think these are bad shirts for little girl's - they are from Gymboree and some people think there are implications to the words?

http://tinyurl.com/twll - shirt says "Yum"

http://tinyurl.com/twlp - "Yummy" written under the picture of a cupcake

Just curious.

Well, I guess I can't say they're really bad since I say yummy all the time to N. That said, in light of all the inappropriate middle-schooler, implication-type wear out there, I would never waste my money on one, even if it's Gymbo. The one that says "yum" is stupid.
Wow, that ebayer is charging quite a fee for shipping!

I agree

The Yum one doesn't make sense - what's Yum - its not a store or a brand ...

Yummy under the cupcake is at least cute.

I used the eBay photos because they showed the shirts and their designs pretty well.

Inappropriate? Yes to the first, maybe to the second.

Of course, compared to the little girl T-shirts I saw at *Walmart* saying "so many boys, so little time", the gymboree shirts are downright quaint.

Not the same for boys

Alan likes little girls...but I don't think I'd get a shirt on him that implies something like that.

At least little boys clothing tends to exaggerate jock stuff not sex.

I don't think so and they are cute but I could see where a pedophile might think that. I know that sounds bad but thats what I think. Unfortunately there are a bunch of sickos out there who like to twist things around.

I personally wouldn't spend the money on them, way to expensive for my taste since the kids outgrow them so fast anyway.

i think that first one is just...lame.

i don't know...if i had girls, i wouldn't buy them crap like this. there aren't boys shirts out there that say yum. thank god.

An idea...

If they'd made the letters out of candy/sweets then it would have worked, but just "YUM" is lame, I agree.

I don't have a problem with yum or yummy, especially if it's regarding candy. It's certainly something my kids say. If it said "I'm yummy" or "lick me" yeah, then I' be offended!

I don't get it. When I was a little girl I had shirts that said stuff like 'yummy' or 'sweet' or what ever. The ones that things like 'sexy' and 'hot' that got someone in trouble not long ago were bad, these I don't see anything wrong with.

Unfortunately I'd have to give a thumbs down on the shirts because of all the sickos in the world who would misinterpret the words. I hate the fact that I have to say that, but I wouldn't buy them for Hannah because of it.
