Last night Alan woke up and barfed up a little smush from dinner including a piece of pineapple. He seemd uncomfortable sleeping after that and by the time we woke up around 6:30 wasn't his usual self. I tried to give him a little water/white grape juice, he drank a little. I also gave him tylenol, he was warm.As I was about to give him a bath around 8:30 AM, he barfed again - still with some undigested pineapple. Before that he did a very smelly weird grayish poop (I think it had tomato bits too..)

He crashed for about 20 minutes around 8:50 - we had a 9:30 eye dr appointment. I took him and he seemed ok, even playful (his eyes are fine).
We went to the mall after that. He downed his 8 oz bottle (I gave him formula). But he did several smelly poops - even a little runny stuff. He didn't seem to want any lunch, and about 1:30 (I gave him the bottle around 10:30?) he barfed up white stuff. I had to go to an appointment, so we went. He fell asleep around 2:30 until I left the supermarket around 3:20 (I had him in the stroller while in Shoprite). We came home and then both napped till 4:20-4:30. He then drank about 3 oz of pedialyte and ate 2 gerber crackers. But when I went to put more pedialyte in the bottle he wouldn't drink it. He hasn't thrown up or pooped since and is playful and enegetic (no temperature) but I can't get him to eat or drink anything?

I'll try again when DH is home.

my kids would never drink pedialyte. (Can't say as I blame them - have you ever tasted that stuff?) I finally did what the baby books said not to do and gave them warm sugar water to make sure they stayed hydrated. they liked that.

Something else Aaron loved was pureed watermelon or vanilla yogurt.

zakkary had irritability and no appetite - then friday night fever - saturday morning a lil' rash ----- saturday night total rash = roseola infantum.

once they show symptoms they are contagious.
i gave every mom that zakkary had contact with in the past two&half weeks notice.
it's scary (the high fever) other than that it's just a virus.

i'm not sure if that's alan's deal but the not eating part was/is the first sign.
look it up in "what to expect the first year" and i suppose the second year! :)

Thanks. He seems better tonight. I think it might have been last night's pineapple disagreeing with him.

He had a weird day or two of fever right around his birthday, no rash or cold just fever. It was a long 4 days or so - he hadn't really gotten sick his first year.

I could NEVER get Dustin to drink that pedialyte stuff. He'd gag at it every time. Boo to sick babies.

This was the apple flavored stuff. Anyway, he did drink his milk before bed and nursed before falling sleep, so he did have fluids.

He also had carrots, a little rice, and bannana for dinner.
