Weekend Recap (part 2)
Dec. 1st, 2003 11:14 amSaturday AM, Alan still had a rash. I looked in one of the baby books I had, and the picture, description and behavior (coming and going) matched hives NOT chicken pox. Whew! We think they were due to the rasberries (or blueberries) he had on thanksgiving. Went to Macy's to use the early bird 10.00 off coupon. It said on one purchase. So DH figured he'd get socks. When we got to the register, they said NO, on one item over 10. So we looked and looked. I finally found blanket sleepers for 10.98. But when I got to the register they were marked down. So we left.(I did get Alan a cute gund bear, but yet again NO interest in stuffed animals from him, he just tossed it.)
I then left to get my grandmother in the city. Got there early so I walked around. Found the gymboree 2 blocks from her - but bought nothing there, I'm gymboreed out! (amazing). Came back just in time for Mark's uncle and so to arrive. (DH brought Alan there). Alan was good (eating pickles even) until dinner time when he'd been up too long. So he was strollered in the house to sleep. He woke up for dessert - same crankiness as Thursday. So Dh gave him CHEESECAKE (we'd better not make a habit of the sweetstuff). He loved that. Later Alan and I drove Grandma home. Alan slept. DH stopped off at a friends house and then helped his friend return a TV. (It didn't work without cable, which is really dumb.) Alan and I finished the chinese leftovers and he had lima beans (I wanted him to eat something nutritous). I gave Alan a bath and DH came home in time for bed.
Sunday we slept in. I went with Alan to get a vaccum - both of ours were dead(we have to drive a bit on sunday's as local stores aren't open due to blue laws). We stopped at the supermarket for diapers on sale, best buy and buy buy baby. As I left buy buy baby, DH called - I had to go home so he could go with someone to get shower doors. So I flew home. DH and friend came back with shower doors and a vaccuum. A 200.00 Hoover Windtunnel. It's quite good. So then DH went to put Alan down for a nap. He ended up napping with him in the bedroom (where I'd wanted to clean...grrr.)
Then Alan and I went to the supermarket for food. Ran into our friend Dave who does his laundry at the laundromat next door and our sitter's daughter who works there.
We had Thanksgiving leftovers for dinner. Alan finally got to eat Thanksgiving stuff. He loved the sweet potatoes, so did his clothes and hair. So another bath before bed.
After his bedtime, I packaged and mailed (thanks to stamps.com for postage) all my holiday exchanges. I also listed the vaccum bags on eBay and some other vintage baby clothes. (Oddly enought both kinds of bags came from eBay in the first place!) I still need to order 1 box of candy and do my x-mas cards.
Now it's Monday :(
