Need a new coffee maker!
Dec. 10th, 2003 04:01 pmSomehow my Dh chipped the glass carafe to my proctor silex coffee maker in the dishwasher. I'd only recently started using it, but I think it is an older model. I checked on-line but it is at least 10.00 for the replacement 12 cup pot. I don't think it pays to get a new pot, so I'm looking for a new one. I do think I want one with a timer, but don't need fancier than that.
Any suggestions at a good price - online or in stores?

I can tell you NOT to get the black&decker timer model I got. the maker is fine, but the carafe for it is a pain. The white plastic rim at the top collects coffee, which drips down the outside and burns onto it. Also in the DW, it collects the water, but doesn't get clean, so there is always coffee residue collecting in that handle-connector, pouring rim. When the last one burned out on me, the hub thought he would do me a favor by taking me to buy a new one, but I didn't have time to look into the models, and ended up with this one, which I hate. I can't wait for it to burn out.

Date: 2003-12-10 04:14 pm (UTC)I have a Mr Coffee one that has a timer on it. We bought it 4 years ago and it's never given me any problems. I think they cost around $25, but I'm not positive.
