The last 3 nights Alan has gone to sleep with someone lying next to him and no bedtime bottle first. Should we be concerned that he has no milk before bed? Should he have more milk and or water during the day?

Every pediatrician I've talked to has been very against putting them to bed with anything but a sippy cup of water, and they had us wean alex off the bottle at a year.

I wasn't clear

He doesn't sleep with the bottle. He drinks it before bed. He hasn't really taken to the sippy cup, I want to work on it over the holidays when he's not in daycare. Our ped wanted him off the bottle before 15 months.

I would say that if he doesn't want it don't worry about it. Does he let you know when he wants more food or water etc? He'll probably find a way to let you know if he wants more during the day.

i'm sure he's fine

kids will let you know if they're hungry. Give him that extra bottle during the day and switch him to water at night if he still needs the ritual comfort. wow. there's hope. some day, my kid will start to go to sleep all by himself.

why on earth is sleep so hard????
