Last night I came home and our friend was putting up the shower doors in the master bathroom at last. We are letting it dry, and the caulking still stinks as of a little while ago (but fainter now). Because of the smell, Mark Alan and I all slept in the other bedroom. That was ok, except there is no bed rail on the bed (its an opened futon - one side against the wall) - I woke up - had to go to the bathroom and had ot make sure Mark was awake enough to watch Alan so I could go.
This morning my left leg hurt a little when I woke up - when I was showering it looked swollen and I got nervous - between the leg and the cough/congestion I've had for a while - I decided to call in sick and go to the doctor. Got there a little after 8. Waited a bit, but got in quickly. Diagnosis: nothing wrong with the leg (take advil) and an RX for a cold for some new medicine "tri-tussin" - a cough suppressant, decongestant and something else. Went to the supermarket to fill it. Pharmacy was to open at 9. He wasn't there till 9:15 so I left. Did stuff at home - straightened out the mess of clothes in the master bedroom for a while while DH worked at home. Eventually I went out to get the prescription filled. Supermarket didn't have it, so went to the old fashioned independant pharmacy in town. They'd had the diflucan liquid in stock when I needed for Alan as baby so I figured they might have this other odd medicine. Yup, they did. It's apparently new, and they'd ordered it for someone else. It did help a bit, so I'm glad I got it. Straightened up the rest of the bedroom finally stashing away my summer clothes (too many t-shirts!) and pulling all the winter stuff out. Even packed up Alan's outgrown clothes, bargains for next summer and even a few next fall items into the appropriate places and piles!
Later we asked the condo super to install our new fan light. After several hours of work, no luck - fan wouldn't turn even after calling Hunter. Couldn't find the receipt, we decided to take it back to Lowes (which is a 20-30 minute ride) and get a store credit. I'd really wanted to bathe Alan and bake cookies for tommorrow. So I drove tonight since it would snow Sunday. I ended up basically exchanging the fan for another and getting 2 shower massages to install (I really want the handheld part for bathing Alan).
Mark put Alan to bed. We woke him up getting stuff in the bedroom. Mark thought Alan wanted milk, but he was too cranky to take it. While I went to find the bottle cap to put it back in the fridge...I heard an "Oh SH*T" from Mark. Somehow Alan wiggled while Mark was trying to pick him up and banged his head on the crib. He was ok, but he did even things with Mark - we were all lying on the bed in the dark comforting Alan, he wiggled and managed to bonk Mark in the head with his head!
I should go to bed soon. I have to bathe Alan in the AM and bake Tollhouse Chocolate Chip Cookies. We're going to an open house at Mark's uncles in Connecticut. His SO has 5 children and 13-14 grandchildren - she said there would be 19 children coming to the party. Two 15x10 pans of cookies should feed many! (I left the nuts out of the Tollhouse cookie recipie).
