Sizing Quirks
Dec. 27th, 2003 04:41 pmYesterday I picked up a bunch of stuff for Alan from Gymboree, Kids R US (mostly their brand, one Carter's and one Disney item also) and Kohls (some brand of pj's and a Somona long sleeve T). All were in 2T (2 sizes up from his current 12-18 months - in old navy/gymboree/gap he's been running true to age for his size).
I was sorting stuff out this morning as the 2T stuff was to put away for next year.
No problem with the gymboree. The KRU was weird. One 2T sweatshirt I bought was barely bigger than his current 12-18 month size (his new gymboree 12-18 month sweatshirt I think was bigger). The other KRU tops matched up perfectly in size to Alan's 18-24 old navy shirts. So did the Somona top. The PJ's looked ok, and the KRU shorts and the disney item (a tigger bathing suit) looked to be 2T for the summer after next. I'm exchanging the somona top for a 3t since I wanted it for the fall. (I should have known, I go one size up in their ladies t-shirt.) And I'll see if I can find any 3T tops left in KRU to save for the summer after next or for next fall if I can find another sweatshirt (it was cute with dinosaurs). (I can't return the KRU stuff as they are going out of business, and its not like they don't fit, they just won't fit when I thought they would and fortunately the shorts were a go with anything color, although one of the t's was to match the navy stripe in the disney tigger suit.
Weird. At least now I have to back and use my 10 off 10 I got at Kohls that's good next week.

Date: 2003-12-27 06:34 pm (UTC)My biggest problems with Violet have been her growing out of the stuff I have for her or it just being the wrong season cause she's bigger than her sisters were.
And when they get older, it's harder to buy clothes a year ahead of time.. I buy shirts and jackets a size or two big, but can't do that with pants. (You might remember my problems with Sarah and pants...)

Date: 2003-12-27 08:44 pm (UTC)It turns out the slippers I got my husband were too small too - so I'll be exchanging something else at Kohls.
