I want to get an MP3 player. I'm looking for suggestions, the one I did see in my office was very hard to figure out at the controls.

The iPod is very easy to use, and I recommend is very highly to anyone.

If you want an iPod (which you DO) and don't want to spend $300, $400, or $500, wait until January 5th.

Is there an Ipod sale pending?

Well, the details of what's coming are not clear. It's likely to be a low-end ($100-$200) version of the iPod.

You should go to an Apple Store (there's one in Summit and one at Tyce Corners) to check out the iPod. They will show you jsut how cool it is (but again, don't buy one this week.

I always think a cheaper option, if you've got a CDr, is to buy a discman with MP3 playback capability. You can get what, 10 hours of music to a 600Mb disc. Not sure what they cost in the US, in the UK they start from about £60 (~$90?)

I'm probably missing some reason why this is a bad idea, and it's not as sexy as an iPOD, but... ;)
