Rough night last night. I'd been having Mark take Alan into bed with him after I go to sleep (out of the crib), so I don't lift Alan out of the crib 1/2 asleep as I've been known to do. Last night when Mark fetched Alan after I'd gone to bed, he didn't seem to go back to sleep. Eventually Alan wound up with me (sleeping is ok, I can't lift him due to my surgery for a few more days), and poor Mark didn't get back to sleep (he's a light sleeper). Tonight I think we'll all crash together at grownup bedtime and all will be well.

Lots of news to comment on:

Bush using 9/11 images in his campaign ads. NO! Don't do that. I have trouble with some aspects of 9/11, and I didn't even lose anyone close to me. Neither should Kerry or even if Juiliani runs in the future - its too sensitive to many people. Actually Juliani (NY mayor) did more in managing the aftermath of 9/11, than Bush and he shouldn't run on that either.

All these gay marriages. I don't have a problem with the gay marriages, but sincerly hope that the people who are doing this are getting married for the right reasons in their relationships. I'm sure no couple wants to be the first gay couple to get divorced. Even heterosexual couples get married for the wrong reasons leading to messy divorces and other legal nasties. (I saw one older Lesbian couple getting married in San Franscisco who'd been together for years and years and years - I'm sure they are happy to finally get legally married.)

And in regard to Survivor - The Early Show will be interesting with Richard Hatch and Sue Hawk together. Is the room big enough to keep them far enough apart?

I Cannot Believe he's doing this. What happened is not campaign propoganda. I don't even live in NYC. I was there a month after and the sadness/grief/stunned-ness was palpable.

I think I saw that same image. It was sweet. But, you make a good point re: marriage and the right reasons. It's not a political thing.

How was the Richard/Susan showdown. I haven't watched survivor since the first couple seasons. I know Richard and Susan are almost POLAR OPPOSITES. Susan is such a rural WI stereotype in so many ways.

It was actually very tame. Since Survivor was filmed a few months back, both sides have had time to cool off.

I saw a crawl on the bottom of the tv that Guiliani doesn't disprove of Bush's use of 9/11 images. My opinion of Guiliani has now dropped :(

I'm wondering though if the 9/11 images are as sensitive outside the Northeast - it's probably different if you were never there even for a visit or didn't know someone personally.
