2 Week Checkup (Alan)
Oct. 29th, 2002 05:09 pmAlan's still 7lbs 2 oz - hasn't gained or lost since the visit Thursday.
This probably due to unintentional underfeeding on my part - not often
enough or enough supplimental formula. (I'm having a hard time getting
myself organized with feeding, changing, etc.)
Thrush is clearing up.
Circumcision is healing.
Oddly pointing little toes are nothing to worry about (I noticed them
while changing him, they dangle a bit, it's probably from how he was
lying inside me.)
Use vitamin drops after I finish the thrush medicine. She (the nurse
practicationer) gave me a syrnge which will help with the .3 ml dosage I
need to give, I didn't have anything that went that small.
I need to do some tummy time and make sure he turns his head to the side
he doesn't favor - and put Triple Paste Cream on his rash. She wasn't
crazy about using fancy baby lotion on him due to the fact DH and I have
allergies (although I can't recall being allergic to skin stuff, I've
used all sorts of stuff on me).
I have yet another weight check on Thursday and better instructions on
how to feed and suppliment him (basically every 2 hours during the day,
alternate feeds suppliment him, but I will have to deviate a little
tonight because I have my 2 week checkup tonight during one of his
feeding times :( ).
I'm getting tired of the dr visits. I can't drive yet so DH has to drive
me (or my MIL). I STILL haven't been able to get the car seat checked by
the police (its a voluntary thing) in either car and tommorrow may not be
a good day to do it since it will be cold and raw :( I'll feel better
about going places with him when this is done.
We did stop at the supermarket on the way home from his doctor visit. The
nice pharmacist wasn't there (there are 2 there - one I call the grump
and one friendly one) - but the bank manager was in (the bank has a
supermarket branch). He thought Alan was cute, and I told him we'll open
an account when he gets his social security # (how long does that take
anyway?) (I've been banking and filling prescriptions at the supermarket
since 1999, so both services know me pretty well.)
