Saturday we took Alan to a nearby flea market (meadowlands). He wasn't used to the sun, he didn't like it his eyes. I've been trying to keep a hat (baseball cap type) on him when he's outside, but they have a habit of falling and blocking his eyes, and then he cries unless he falls asleep. I wonder if another kind of hat would work better, like a bucket hat. I like keeping a hat on him because he's got no real hair.
Yesterday we went to visit my grandmother who is recovering from pnuemonia. She's 93, but is home with an aide looking out for her during the day. She's weak but still sharp. Her birthday is soon, my cousin's taking her out to Peter Luger's steakhouse in Williamsburg. We weren't going to go because it was 5 PM on a Saturday, but now that she's been ill, we'll go. A sitter isn't a problem, it's the hassle of driving from NJ to Brooklyn :( I actually used to work in Williamsburg for 6 weeks about 8 years ago (wow, that long), right near Peter Luger's but the company was moving to Manhattan...I didn't like the neighborhood and was glad when it moved. Then the following day, we have a party to go to 1.5 hours away with no kids allowed, so my MIL will sit again (not that she minds.) Now I need to find something dressy and pump friendly (I plan to bring my Avent along and pump to be comfortable for both occassions).
