Update (long)
Apr. 21st, 2003 12:31 pmInteresting weekend.
I left work early Friday (office closed). Got home to find out a police officer was killed in Fairlawn NJ where we have friends. The police officer was killed after a car chase. Maryanne, the only female police officer in the town grew up near friends of ours, and the mom of one of them was on TV talking about her - (its on the WNBC.com site in the video). Her being on TV would have been funny except for the circumstances :(
My DH had seen her once in the bagel store, so he recognized her.
Saturday we went to help a friend with a construction project. I took Alan for a walk while the saw was being used, but he then slept through hammering and barking dogs. He was very good, and even got to see his doggie friend (the one who licked his face last week). We got home with no problems, and then went out again to visit another nearby friend. Alan started to cry on the car ride (unusual for him). We thought he was hungry but he kept crying. He had very bad gas apparently, I ended up getting gas medicine/tylenol for him and eventually he calmed down. I didn't anything weird that I could think of, and he had rice cereal and bannans early that day. When we got home he ended up sleeping in the car seat until 1:30 AM.
We also got our new futon for bedroom #2, replacing my ancient (from 1987) sleeper sofa. Got the next to the top of the line coil mattress, and its very comfy. The mattress was made in a nearby town on April 14th!
Yesterday we went to the zoo with my MIL and a friend. We wound up seeing the friends who had Alan freak out the night before, and we all hung out. The zoo was free, not all the animals are out for the summer yet. There were lots of hassidic/orthodox jews walking around (you can tell by the way they dress). Some of them would dress their children in matching clothes (cute)!. I also saw someone breastfeeding on a bench :) (There isn't much to do on Easter if it isn't your holiday and the zoo is open). We tried Alan on the swing and slides again (he didn't seem too thrilled), but he liked the sandbox (I held him as he can't sit up, he liked to get the sand in his hands).
My nursing tankini came from Canada and it fit, and I found I do have some summer stuff that fits!
