Weekend Update (long)
Jun. 16th, 2003 10:39 amIt was busy as usual for us.
Saturday - went and joined BJ's wholesale. We had a deal for 20.00 for 15 months business membership. We got it in the mail but lost it. But we got the manager to give us the rate anyway. I got new glasses while there as I need them - I've been wearing my sunsensor/transitions glasses all the time and I'm tired of them being dark inside (I have the darker kind that don't lighten 100% inside, I squint badly). Had lunch with DH's best friend who lives upstairs. We made extra peas, so we mushed them in the blender (they may have a little butter on them?) and I've frozen them. Hopefully Alan will like them. Then Alan and I went to Toys R Us to get the double bed rail for my bed. We got caught in a thunder storm on Rt 17. He didn't mind and he had a lot to see as we were in my hatchback car. Then after our dinner we went to visit friends and we had a good time.
Sunday we got up early and went to the Englishtown, NJ flea market. It was like a zillion garage sales. I got Alan a onepiece outfit, a pair of jeans, and a dress up Elmo (who fell in the mud, but he cleaned up ok). DH had a lot of fun, he got an electronic dart board, some juice, cookies, and matching watches for us :)) We didn't find what we hoped to find (baby gates), but there are more garage sales. We then stopped at buffet on the way home (Old Country/Hometown). We had Alan trying different things. He liked the inside of stuffed shells (ricotta/spinach) and vanilla pudding the best. He didn't like the cheese of macaroni and cheese or the sauce part of baked beans :( Ice cream was kind of cold for him. (we just gave him little bits...we also had brought peaches for him.)
Later we gave him dinner and a bath. While he was having his bedtime bottle, he fell asleep. He's fallen asleep nursing, never on bottle. He must have been wiped out - he didn't wake up till 4AM (of course at that point I took him into bed to nurse.)
DH liked his father's day. It was just the sort of thing he likes to do: a flea market and a buffet :)
This weekend looks so busy too. A picnic Saturday and he goes to Grandma's sunday (we have wedding to go to, first of 2 in a row on Sundays and the first of 3 or even 4 this year!)
