lesliepear: (Alan and Me)
Friday was my company picnic in Prospect Park. I played softball this year (since I'm not pregnant). I actually hit the ball a few times, even getting an RBI but never got on base safely. One of my co-workers was telling me to run into the first baseman - but considering how big Bob is (when he was at bat, the outfield went WAY back), I wasn't going to try!

Saturday we did errands in the morning (Petsmart and BJ's). Then we had a 1st birthday party to attend for our upstairs neighbor. It was at her church - in a party room. This was really good because there was a nursery next door and we could borrow the crib/exersaucer/pack and play that lived there. Alan was very social, even though he'd (as well as us) had not seen anyone there but our neighbors before. The pastor and his wife were very friendly - she was really good with kids. They said grace before the meal, and Alan let out a loud yelp - (I'm like Alan, I know we are Jewish, don't embarass us ). She had crafts and DH and I made tye dyed shirts (but alas I got some red dye on a beige cotton skort :( ). Then we took after the cake (which the birthday boy slept through) - yes Alan had some frosting - and went to a performance of Ragtime, the musical at a park about 45 minutes away.

The show was quite good, big cast and big costume budget for a community theatre. Alan was very good, he watched most of the 1st half, and I tried to calm him down and get him to sleep during the second - he wanted to be up - walking, a bottle, nursing, etc didn't get him to sleep. He fell asleep in the car on the way home. I do think Alan likes music/musicals.

Yesterday, we cleaned house. Then our friend dropped by with her son, later Mark's mom came by and we went for ice cream. Alan had a little bit but was very happilly wired. But he fell asleep with a minute or so of crying and was in the crib all night (instead of winding up in bed with me at some point)

And this morning, Laura Bush was on Sesame Street :(

I heard they may be making layette clothes in sizes up to 18-24 months soon. Since the regular boys lines are soo boring, I'll be glad to get another season in them. (He's going into 12-18 month size now).
