Thanksgiving

Saw a bit of the Thanksgiving parade. Alan even looked a little. He's just not a sit on your lap watch TV little boy. Sigh.

DH and Alan are napping. I had him drowsy but he woke up and kept crying so DH went in and now they are both napping on the bed. So I can't straighten out my clothes which are a total mess in the master bedroom. I need to convince DH to learn to watch/play/take Alan somewhere for more than 20 minutes or so sometime so I can do stuff. I sometimes wish we had 3 bedrooms - one for us, one for Alan and one for an office, rather than Alan sleeping in our room and bedroom #2 being the messy office.

We are going to my cousin's at 4. My grandmother, my cousin, his ex-wife, her boyfriend (!!!) and their 3 kids 12,8(?) and 5 will be there. Food will probably be catered by Whole Foods (not that that's a bad thing.)

I am thankful that:

DH and I both have jobs.
Alan is healthy, despite losing 4 baby teeth in a fall this summer.
Moxie (cat) is still happy and healthy at 15. He's adjusted to Alan and the loss of Inky very well.
Inky (other cat) found a good home when I had to give her up due to her unhappiness with Alan.
Our friends and family are all healthy.
Work is being done in our house to fix it up finally, even if it's being dragged out a bit.

Interview

Did I mention I have an interview on Wednesday?
Still financial, still NYC though.
Actually, it is 2 blocks north of where I am now. So I can keep the good shopping - children's place, old navy, bed bath beyond, gap, burlington coat factory, starbucks etc :)
If I have to work in NYC, I really don't want to work anywhere near Ground Zero. Although I had to go downtown shortly after 9/11 because of my consulting firm (which was at 40 broad street, next to the NY Stock Exchange) I really have ventured down there as little as possible. I still remember the WTC and the shopping concourse SO clearly in my head. (So glad I was on jury duty in NJ that day).
