Today was the children's party at work. So Alan was coming to work with me.
Got us up, gave him a waffle, he didn't eat much. Got him dressed, took my shower, got ready and tried to get his sneakers on. No way, ended up trying to put his too big still Merrils on. Got him to the car, one was missing, took him out went back into the house and found the shoe.
Off now to NYC. Missed the exit for the Lincoln Tunnel, so had to go to the next exit on the NJ turnpike and back. Made it safely to work and parked in the pay lot across the street.
Alan was a bit crabby even after napping in the car - he did eat a little melon. Ended up trying to walk him around a conference room so he'd nap. No luck. Ended up walking around the block. Stopped at the car to get my big car blanket to cover him and locked the car door afterwards. He did nap for a bit and then he got woken up by a child nearby. So we had lunch. Pizza for the grownups. I was told happy meals for the kids - I figured burgers (Alan likes them). Nope, chicken nuggets. And they didn't get any toddler toys :( He did play on the floor a bit and chased a ball and met some of the kids close to his own age. A few of the ones near his age were sick and didn't come. But he wasn't really himself. He seemed tired all day. I did get a photo of him with Santa (my adjacent colleage) and one with my boss, but not the lots of photos I thought I'd get. And I didn't get work done, but didn't expect that. Alan did eat a little during the day including part of a pickle that the kosher people had with their lunch (a seperate lunch was ordered for the kosher employees, but there was leftovers). I don't think Alan enjoyed the party that much, maybe next year (if I'm there....)
When we left it took a while to get across town. But we finally headed toward home. I wanted to go to gymboree to get a price adjustment on my order. I got there and couldn't find the card I'd used. So I went home and called Target. After much holding and bouncing, the card had been found there (whew). Also while I was trying to change Alan into his pj's the UPS guy rang. I had to go get the door. grrr...
Mark came home not feeling well. I gave Alan Gerber Graduates chicken/stringbeans and sweetpotato for dinner - why did they put the sweet potatoes in, Alan made a mess eating that by hand! I then went out after dinner and Mark was putting Alan to bed to get my card at Target and get the adjustment at gymboree. I ended up saving around 70.00 between the adjustment and my gymbucks :)
Hopefully we'll all be over this bug soon. I feel mostly better.
