Rough night last night. I'd been having Mark take Alan into bed with him after I go to sleep (out of the crib), so I don't lift Alan out of the crib 1/2 asleep as I've been known to do. Last night when Mark fetched Alan after I'd gone to bed, he didn't seem to go back to sleep. Eventually Alan wound up with me (sleeping is ok, I can't lift him due to my surgery for a few more days), and poor Mark didn't get back to sleep (he's a light sleeper). Tonight I think we'll all crash together at grownup bedtime and all will be well.

Lots of news to comment on:

Bush using 9/11 images in his campaign ads. NO! Don't do that. I have trouble with some aspects of 9/11, and I didn't even lose anyone close to me. Neither should Kerry or even if Juiliani runs in the future - its too sensitive to many people. Actually Juliani (NY mayor) did more in managing the aftermath of 9/11, than Bush and he shouldn't run on that either.

All these gay marriages. I don't have a problem with the gay marriages, but sincerly hope that the people who are doing this are getting married for the right reasons in their relationships. I'm sure no couple wants to be the first gay couple to get divorced. Even heterosexual couples get married for the wrong reasons leading to messy divorces and other legal nasties. (I saw one older Lesbian couple getting married in San Franscisco who'd been together for years and years and years - I'm sure they are happy to finally get legally married.)

And in regard to Survivor - The Early Show will be interesting with Richard Hatch and Sue Hawk together. Is the room big enough to keep them far enough apart?

Live Journal Ancestry: Who made you get a LiveJournal? Post that person's LJ, and if this meme spreads, see, you'll eventually be able to click click click and see who your LJ grandfather, great grandmother, great great grandthing, etc, etc, is all the way back to the pioneer days.

The instigator for me was [livejournal.com profile] kimatha who met her husband [livejournal.com profile] samhamm here. I knew her from an e-mail list and she gradually disappeared to over here :)

I think people on my friend's list might know the answers to these.

1. I've seen the "Barbie" laptop as a play computer for girls. Is there any type of similar educational laptop for baby boys? I thought Alan could mess with that rather than playing with the mouse on my PC.

2. I know a few of you do beading. How hard would it be to make a chocker necklace with beads on CORD not wire? I'm thinking of getting a colorful chocker to hide my thyroid removal scar as it heals (I figured wire might dig in). Any help you can come up with would be appreciated.
